How does the gesture sensor interact with the focus adjustment?
The gesture sensor and focus ring operate independently. The sensor detects hand movement near the front of the unit. Adjusting the focus ring normally does not trigger the sensor, and the sensor continues to work at any focus setting from spot to flood.
Can the headband be machine-washed?
The headband is detachable via quick-release clips and can be hand-washed with mild detergent and air-dried. Machine washing is not recommended as it may cause the elastic to degrade prematurely. Replacement headbands are available as accessories.
What is the practical battery life in different modes?
High mode (310LM) provides approximately 4 hours of runtime. Using Medium or Low modes, runtime extends proportionally — Medium delivers roughly 6-8 hours, and Low can achieve 12+ hours. The red LED modes consume even less power and can run for 20+ hours on a full charge.
Is the HL91 suitable for running or cycling?
With 92 grams of weight, a secure headband, and IP43 weather resistance, the HL91 is suitable for nighttime running and casual cycling. For cycling on roads, the red rear-facing flash mode provides visibility to traffic when the headlamp is worn with the red LED facing backward.
Can the battery be replaced when it degrades?
The HL91 uses a built-in sealed battery that is not user-replaceable. The battery is rated for several hundred charge cycles. For applications requiring replaceable batteries, we recommend our models with external 18650 battery compartments.
